Xbox 360 Towel Trick Problems

Is your Xbox 360 freezing up? Before you resort to the infamous towel trick to attempt to fix your broken Xbox 360, please take a moment to inform yourself. The Xbox 360 towel trick is only meant as a temporary fix that does nothing to permanently fix the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 towel trick is dangerous! Very few people have had lasting success with this method and you can actually end up causing further damage to your system. I also do not advocate that you blindly follow some random forum poster's advice the next time you notice your Xbox 360 freeze.

Other things to consider before you tinker with your Xbox:

  • Opening your 360 voids your warranty
  • Sending your Xbox to Microsoft for repairs usually costs $140 if your warranty is out of date
  • the towel trick will only further damage your Xbox 360 as time goes on

Why does the Xbox 360 freeze up in the first place?

The Xbox 360 freezes because of a design flaw. They made the cooling unit too small to properly cool the motherboard, causing the entire system to freeze up on even seemingly simple tasks. This can be very aggravating since this is entirely the fault of the design team and nothing to do with the consumer. Hot air just gets recycled around and around in the console, and as a result, it can't help but overheat. Ignoring the problem is just about the worst thing you can do (aside from using the towel trick), and the freezing will only become more frequent. The enjoyment of playing a game is completely zapped away by these unexpected freezes that happen at pivotal moments in the game.

There are several guides in existence as well that promise to show you how to fix your Xbox 360. It is a shame that most of these guides promote unsafe methods that could potentially ruin your Xbox forever.

However, of all the guides that have been written, there are some that provide true content. The highest ranked so far is called Xbox 360 Fixed. It has a fully illustrated guide as well as a 47 minute step-by-step video walkthrough. If you are looking to fix your Xbox 360 permanently and safely, I highly suggest you read the product review of Xbox360 Fixed:

Football Video Games on the PS3

For about two centuries, football has been an extremely popular sport all over the world. This pastime's popularity has led to things other than the actual playing of the sport itself. Sports fanatics all over the world can read about it, talk about it, even play it virtually. As technology advances, so do video game consoles. We've had the Atari, the Nintendo, and the Playstation. Then we had the X-Box, N64, and Playstation 2. Today, we have X-Box Live, Nintendo 360, and PS3.

As video games advance, we have must have games to play on them. As football is known all over the world, why not create video games for it, so that one can play it from the comfort of one's own home? So, for those football fans out there who are looking for games to play on their new PS3s, here are a few great finds:

FIFA Street 3, the third arcade soccer game of its kind, was released earlier this year. Reviewers give it a 6.5 on a 10 point scale, making it a fair rating. It costs about $30 at most major retailers.

UEFA Euro 2008 was released about a week after Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. However, it was given an 8.0 on a 10 point scale, giving this one a great rating. It has realistically modeled players, as well as over 50 European teams, not to mention the fact that it is the officially licensed game of the UEFA championship. It runs at about $50 at the major retailers.
